Thousands of football fans flooded Lakewood Ranch High School for the kickoff of the 2010 regular season. The Mustangs earned their first win against East County rivals Braden River 21-7.

Lakewood Ranch overpowered the young and rebuilding Braden River 21-7 tonight at Lakewood Ranch High School. The Mustangs capitalized on several Pirate miscues in the win. This was Lakewood's first win in the four-year East County rivalry.

Haile Middle School student Carly Mitchell broke her ankle in May playing soccer. But just two weeks after rejoining practices, Mitchell, 13, and her teammates made it to the quarterfinals in the Challenge Sports 3v3 Nationals July 30 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort.
