Teachers, administrators and staff at Tara Elementary School have rallied behind the child of one of their own.
With the help of Tara’s team, first-grade teacher Debbie Green raised $100 for an upcoming medical missions trip in which her son, Lakewood Ranch High School graduate Jonathan Green, is participating.
Debbie Green said Tara’s staff all contributed to her “Donate a Dollar for a Doctor” campaign.
“We all in our lives have been touched by doctors, and it’s important that we help,” Debbie Green said.
Jonathan Green, a second-year medical student at the University of Florida, will be heading to the Dominican Republic over spring break. He and his classmates are trying to raise $32,000 to go. Monies will provide medicine, medical care, supplies, toiletries and vitamins.
