The Rotary Club of East Manatee received the award for Outstanding Volunteer Group in the Adopt-a-Road Program at Keep Manatee Beautiful’s awards banquet Sept. 13, at Pirate City in Bradenton.
Club members Rich Zang and Melissa Hammond were on-hand to accept the award, which the group received for its commitment to the program and taking the additional step of separating trash from recyclables during quarterly clean-ups.
In addition, the club participated in Keep Manatee Beautiful’s Storm Drain Identification program and brought awareness to the community about keeping trash and debris out of our storm drains to keep waterways clean.
