Peace Presbyterian Church will become a full-fledged congregation of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. in a chartering service at 4 p.m., Oct. 18, at State College of Florida, 7131 Professional Parkway, Lakewood Ranch.
The public is invited to the service of celebration.
Faithful founders will be joined by newer members, friends of Peace and dozens of representatives of the Peace River Presbytery and its congregations. The Rev. Elizabeth Deibert will be installed as pastor and the Rev. Tricia Dillon Thomas will be commissioned as parish associate for youth and families. Twelve elders, elected by the Peace congregation, will be ordained and installed.
A reception will follow the service.
