Chabad Hebrew School of Bradenton & Lakewood Ranch celebrated its first Family Fun Day of the year with a Honey Cake Bake-Off Sept. 25.
Honey cakes, baking tins and ingredients filled the Chabad Jewish Center, as nearly 100 students and their families came together for a pre-holiday celebration.
Participants made honey cakes, which are traditionally eaten during the holiday of Rosh Hashanah, and honey cookies to take home.
Families then voted for the best-decorated honey cake and awarded a video flip phone to the winning cake decorator.
