The cast was there. The audience was there. And so was a curious squirrel. Just as the curtain was about to go up on the Manatee Players’ production of “Hello, Dolly!” Sept. 27, a squirrel shorted out the electrical
connections to the air-conditioning at the Riverfront Theater.
But despite the heat, the show did go on. And although the onstage temperature topped 100 degrees with the lighting, the show proceeded almost as usual.
