Now through Aug. 15, Mixon Fruit Farms will be giving away a free ice cream cone to any child 12 years and younger who comes to the store and recites the “Pledge of Allegiance.”
Mixon’s will also donate a free ice cream cone to any military veteran or active military member with identification during this time.
“It is so important that our young children appreciate how lucky we are in this country and that is how we came up with the pledge idea,” Mixon’s co-owner Janet Mixon said.
Her husband, Dean, said the couple also wanted to show their gratitude to U.S. service men and women.
