Students at Kinnan Elementary School ran and raised funds to help a beloved classmate, Isaiah Jackson, during a special fundraiser in his honor May 25. In February, Isaiah was riding his bike home from school, when a truck hit him. He spent several weeks at All Children’s Hospital and Tampa General Hospital, where he struggled to recover.
He rejoined his classmates May 25 for a 5K run in his honor. The school raised $2,500 to help the Jackson family who is dealing with mounting hospital and physical therapy bills.
Prior to the accident, Isaiah and his dad ran with the school’s Runner’s Club each morning before school.
