More than 1,000 residents flooded Lakewood Ranch Main Street for the first C.A.R.E. Be Aware Autism 5 K Run And 1 Mile Fun Walk April 18. Both events were sponsored by Schroeder-Manatee Ranch and endorsed by the Lakewood Ranch Running Club.
The Center for Autism Resources and Education is a nonprofit organization located inside Pinnacle Academy, a Ranch-based organization that helps families faced with the rising epidemic of autism.
“We may not have a cause here today, but we have hope!” C.A.R.E. founder Dr. Kirstina Ordetx said to the crowd.
