The Haile Middle School Dance Team showed off their best moves at the Florida Dance Team Director’s Association state competition Feb. 27 at Oviedo High School in Oviedo.
The Haile dance ensemble received a ranking of excellent with their hip hop routine to “I Can Transform Ya.”
The trio of Sammy Hyatt, Katie Ciemniecki and Lauren McFarland came in third place with their jazz routine to “Don’t Stop Believin’” by the Glee Cast. The trio was the only middle school team in their division.
Soloists Janessa Ware, Kristyn Klefenz and Tyrese Taylor also performed during the competition.

The Braden River High boys basketball team captured its second-consecutive district title with a 68-56 victory over Venice in the Class 7A-District 11 championship Feb. 10.
