The East County’s Courtney Astore, a sophomore at Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School, has been chosen as one of two students to represent the area at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in May, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Astore won the Sarasota Regional Science, Engineering and Technology High School Fair in the area of Behavioral and Social Science. Astore’s work was selected as one of the two best student projects at the regional fair. She competed against area winners in biochemistry, botany, chemistry, computer science, earth science, engineering, environmental science, mathematics, medicine and health, microbiology, space science and zoology.
Astore spent two years on her project, “Expressive Language Skills and Outcomes in Children with Autism while implementing the iPAD application, Proloquo2Go.”
