Students at Braden River High School got an entertaining and informative glimpse into Florida’s past, when Patrick “Rick” Smith Jr. shared stories from his father in a multimedia presentation Jan. 23, at the school.
Smith presented about the book, “A Land Remembered,” which his late father, Patrick D. Smith, wrote. The story captures the pioneering spirit of Floridians, starting in 1858 when the MacIvey family left Georgia and settled in Florida.
Braden River High School agriculture and business students sponsored the event. Students are reading the book, applying its content to different cross-content area projects and creating digital movies of the story.
