The Rotary Club of East Manatee sparked feelings of patriotism in honor of this year’s Manatee County fair with the group’s can sculpture — a firecracker standing 5 feet tall.
The masterpiece is made of 360 cans of beans, which were donated to the club from Whole Foods Market in Sarasota.
The group competed against other local Rotary groups for a chance to have its can sculpture displayed in an exhibit hall at this year’s Manatee County Fair.
The competition is sponsored by the Palmetto Rotary Club and all proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee County.
