Students at Gullett Elementary School collected nearly 2,000 items during the school’s annual Salvation Army Food Drive.
The final tally was 1,857 items, including outstanding efforts by two students. Third-grader Collin Herbert asked his family to help by donating cans at their family Thanksgiving dinner and collected 265 cans himself.
Fifth-grader Victoria Lapek brought in 295 food items. Her tally was made possible by the generous donation of her father, who gave the money to Victoria after he won a game at work.
