Freedom holds luau-themed dance

Dressed in Hawaiian skirts and leis, children at Freedom Elementary School flooded the cafeteria for the school’s end-of year dance May 22. Guests enjoyed pizza, popcorn, snow cones, dancing and even the limbo during the luau-themed event, which lasted from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Witt students 'rock' night away

Children at Gene Witt Elementary School got a special lesson in American music during the school’s music all-nighter event May 22. Students arrived at 5 p.m., for dinner before settling into music lessons with four Manatee County music teachers, who had them singing, playing instruments and dancing the night away.

Laughter filled the media center at Braden River Elementary School Thursday afternoon as current and former educators flipped through photographs of the school’s first 20 years. Guests celebrated the occasion with many shared memories and some Wranglers-themed cake.
