Out-of-Door Academy students, faculty, staff, parents and alumni celebrated the school's Homecoming with a picnic before the Homecoming game Oct. 23 at Twin Lakes Park. The Thunder community showed its blue and white spirit as the home team defeated Bradenton Christian 17-7.
Gullett students frolic into fall

Dozens of B.D. Gullett Elementary School students and their families packed into the school's cafeteria Oct. 22 for the school's 2nd annual Fall Frolic. The students dined on pizza, cookies and Dippin' Dots before hitting the dance floor and getting their pictures taken in the pumpkin patch.

Mustangs rally for arts programs

The bus loop at Lakewood Ranch High School turned into a carnival extraordinaire during the Mustang Mania event from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Oct. 17. The event, which serves as a fundraiser for the school’s marching band and other fine arts programs, is also open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Oct. 18.
Manatee district will provide swine flu vaccinations
