Dozens of talented boys and girls have been learning the ins and outs of theatrical performance during Lakewood Ranch High's Acting Up Performing Arts Summer Camp June 14 through July 2. On July 2, this year's actors and actresses will take center stage in "High School Musical 2." Performances are open to the public and will be held at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 with all proceeds benefitting the Lakewood Ranch High theater department.

Students at Primrose School at Lakewood Ranch Town Center celebrated their dads June 18 with the annual Donuts for Dads event. Students served donuts and juice along with child-created gifts to their dads to show their appreciation.

Percussionists from throughout Florida marched into the East County for Yamaha's Sounds of Summer percussion camp June 16-17 at Southeast High School. The camp featured renowned percussion instructor Ray Ulibarri, director and arranger of the Klein Forest Bands in Houston.

More than 60 proud 4- and 5-year-olds celebrated a major milestone as they graduated from Primrose School of Lakewood Ranch's Private Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten program June 12 at Lakewood Ranch Town Hall.

Kiddie Academy celebrated the Class of 2010 during its VPK Moving Up Ceremony June 9. Surrounded by teachers, family and friends, 48 graduates donned caps and gowns and made their way across the stage to receive their diplomas. Following the ceremony, which included special programs by each of the three VPK classes, the students celebrated their achievements with cake and juice.
