Nearly 20 members of Tara Elementary School’s Student Council spent their morning washing cars during the school’s car wash Jan. 23. Proceeds from the event will benefit Southeastern Guide Dogs.

Students at Kiddie Academy in Lakewood Ranch didn't let a little cold weather keep them from enjoying their time on the playground Jan. 8. The kids made sure to bundle up in extra layers, warm jackets, hats and hoods while temperatures dropped into the upper 30s and low 40s.

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
