More than 300 middle and high school students will gather for the Career & Technology Student Organization’s Eighth Annual Leadership Rally Saturday at Braden River High School.
Some of the organizations that will be represented at the rally include the Future Business Leaders of America, the Health Occupations Students of America, the Future Builders of America, the Technology Student Association and more.
Superintendent Tim McGonegal will deliver the welcome message at the rally, and the featured speaker will be Elizabeth Everett. Everett is a certified professional image consultant whose clients include The Ms. America Pageant, The Ms. Florida Pageant and Fortune 500 companies. Besides being a nationally recognized motivational speaker, Everett is a product of career and technical education and held office in CTSO as a high school student.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
