The Neal Communities Golf Challenge and a matching grant of $10,000 committed to by Owner Pat Neal, raised $21,800 for B.D. Gullett Elementary in Lakewood Ranch.
The money will be used to help fund resources to support the success for all students in the areas of math, science, reading, the arts and technology.
Coordinated by B.D. Gullett Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization, the Neal Communities Golf Challenge held Sept. 12th at University Park Country Club attracted 60 golfers, who each donated $100 toward the golf scramble. Additional dollars were raised from raffle ticket sales for rounds of golf at the area’s most prestigious semi-private and private golf clubs as well as golf equipment, a notebook computer and more. Another 30 guests who attended the post-golf scramble banquet dinner also contributed to the golf challenge’s total proceeds of $11,800.
Per a matching funds offer from Pat Neal to B.D. Gullett Elementary PTO, Neal Communities donated an additional $10,000, raising the total amount to $21,800. A check was presented to B.D. Gullett Elementary Principal Kathy Hayes and the school children at a special Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony Sept. 21.
“B.D. Gullett’s students will greatly benefit from the generosity put forth by Neal Communities, University Park Country Club and our PTO," Hayes said. “We are honored by the outpouring of support from all who participated."
