Manatee superintendent announces retirement

Manatee County Public School Superintendent Tim McGonegal today announced his pending retirement, which will be effective Feb. 28.
He is retiring for personal reasons.
McGonegal has served as Manatee's superintendent since January 2009, at which time he replaced Dr. Roger Dearing. McGonegal joined the Manatee County School District in January 2002 as assistant director of finance and advanced to director of finance and assistant superintendent of business services in 2004 and 2005, respectively.
