On a humid Friday night, the Braden River Pirates took on North Fort Myers and pulled out their first win of the season.

North Fort Myers put up the first three points of the game with a field goal at the 22-yard line with six minutes, six seconds left in the first quarter.

With nine minutes and 22 seconds left in the second quarter, Andre Mays, 3, received a pass from the 22-yard line and scored the Pirates' first touchdown. The Pirates received the extra point, making the score 7-3.

Two drives later, Titus Humphry,9, takes a handoff from quarterback Dusty Peebles and dashed to the 1-yard line, extending Braden River’s lead to 14-3. The score stayed the same throughout the third quarter.

Going into the fourth quarter, tensions were raised even higher when a lightning delay was called with 11 minutes and 52 seconds left on the clock. Once play resumed, Humphry scored a touchdown with 10 minutes and 26 seconds left to go in the fourth quarter, bringing the score to 21-3. But the streak did not stop there — Jacob Huseman threw a touchdown to Justin Ross in the final minutes of the game, solidifying the final score of 28-3.
