Black Pearls dancer Veronica Mahaney was excited to perform for her new classmates. -
At nearly 600 students, the Class of 2015 is the second-largest freshmen class in Braden River history. -
Principal Jim Pauley welcomes all the incoming freshmen at the beginning of the program. -
Ashley Gillam is one of three drums majors for the marching band this year. -
The River Rhapsody singers performed the national anthem. -
Dimitri Ioakimides and the JROTC presented the colors. -
Arika Brown is a member of the pit percussion section in the Braden River marching band. -
Guidance Department Head Evelyn Williams and her team will assist students with their schedules, scholarships and more. -
Each incoming freshman received a map of the Braden River High campus. -
The marching band performed several songs from its 2011 competition show.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
