The Out-of-Door Academy is ready to play ball.
The school on Feb. 21 held a grand opening ceremony for its new Thunder Baseball Concession Building and Scorer's Booth, just minutes before the Thunder hit the field against Bradenton Christian School.
The new facilities, which were funded by a donation from the Dietrich family, include a state-of-the-art scorer's booth, a concession stand, restrooms, locker room and storage areas.
"We believe in paying it forward," donor Sandy Dietrich said. "We're sports people. This was the perfect opportunity for us."
