Members of Christ Presbyterian Church rang in the holiday season during the church's Festival and International Bazaar of Hope Dec. 4. Guests enjoyed live entertainment, a picnic-style lunch and baked goods, bounce houses and a silent auction, among other activities.

Members of Temple Emanu-El gathered for the fourth annual East county Jewish Gathering at Summerfield Park Aug. 28. Attendees enjoyed socializing, face-painting, a picnic-style dinner, ice cream and a special havdalah service, which marks the separation between the Sabbath and the week ahead.
St. Mary's launches galactic adventure

St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church transformed its sanctuary into space-themed control center for the church's special Galactic Blast Vacation Bible School this week. Children enjoyed arts and crafts, snacks, Bible stories and other "cosmic adventures in praising God."
