Children are rocking the dock this week at Sarasota Baptist’s Crocodile Dock Vacation Bible School, which runs June 15-18. Children are enjoying swamp stomp music, the Chadders dockside Drive-In, crafts, water games and other activities during the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to noon, daily.

Chabad celebrates Lag Ba'Omer

Members of the Chabad of Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch gathered at the picnic area at Summerfield Park from 6-8 p.m., May 12 to enjoy the Jewish celebration of Lag Ba’Omer. The celebration and family fun day included food and drink, cotton candy, an obstacle course, an 18-foot inflatable slide, a caricature artist, face painting, a raffle and other activities.
