Students in the Sprouts Child Development Center preschool program at Harvest United Methodist Church celebrated the start of Spring Break and the Easter holiday with and Easter egg hunt and celebration March 25. The East County Observer caught up with some of the students in Jeannie Middlebrooks and Karen Barbarito’s pre-kindergarten class to find out their favorite Easter memories.

“Finding the Easter eggs because there’s candy inside.”

“When you go to the country club because there’s a baby section to have Easter eggs and a big kid section to have Easter eggs.”

“Finding the Easter eggs because they have candy in them. I go somewhere to find them and then the Easter Bunny hides them and I go find them.”

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
