Temple hosts East County gathering

Members of Temple Emanu-El gathered for the fourth annual East county Jewish Gathering at Summerfield Park Aug. 28. Attendees enjoyed socializing, face-painting, a picnic-style dinner, ice cream and a special havdalah service, which marks the separation between the Sabbath and the week ahead.
St. Mary's launches galactic adventure

St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church transformed its sanctuary into space-themed control center for the church's special Galactic Blast Vacation Bible School this week. Children enjoyed arts and crafts, snacks, Bible stories and other "cosmic adventures in praising God."
Braden River saddles up for VBS

The Church at Braden River took a trip back to the Old West during this year's Vacation Bible School. The Western-themed event included fun, faith-based activities. Participating children also raised money for the church's food pantry.

Children at Faith United Church of Christ brought the Bible story of Joseph and his journey from prison to the palace to life during a special Vacation Bible School July 22-24. VBS children finished the event with a cookout with their families this afternoon.

Nearly 40 kindergarten and first-grade students gathered at Bayside Community Church for Vacation Bible School July 19-23. Participants enjoyed praise and worship, games and arts and crafts, among other activities. The children also enjoyed dressing up for each day's different theme, including animals, space, superheroes, royalty and water day.
