LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Honor Sanctuary isn't only east rescue
Date: June 16, 2010
by: Sheree Napier | Napier's Log Cabin Horse & Animal Sanctuary
Dear Editor:
Once again we see a statement from Honor Sanctuary printed in your newspaper stating that Honor Sanctuary is the only rescue in the East County supporting the East County people.
That is a false statement that your newspaper and Honor Sanctuary know to be false.
Napier’s Log Cabin Horse & Animal Sanctuary Inc. is located in East Manatee and has been a licensed 501(c)(3) animal rescue and has been helping East County residents for more than five years. It has even survived and continues to survive when Manatee County Humane Society could not make it out here in East County with their Red Barn venture.
The East County Observer has been out to our Sanctuary, running numerous articles on the Sanctuary, which is greatly appreciated and helps us adopt animals.
These days are hard times for all rescues. Statements from Honor Sanctuary and printed by The Observer implying that our sanctuary does not exist (along with the other East Manatee rescues such as B.U.D.D.I.E.S. and Sixteen Hands just to name a few) hurts all the animals sitting here at the sanctuary and other rescues awaiting their “forever” adoptive homes.
