East County man arrested for sex with minors

Derrick Faircloth, of the 7100 block of 84th Street Court East, was charged with sexual battery, two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation, two counts of introduction of obscene material to a minor and three counts of delivering a controlled substance to a minor.

Guests enjoyed music by Gumbo Boogie while feasting on boiled shrimp, crawfish corn dogs, beignet du monde, watermelon and other Cajun favorites.
Arts A Blaze celebrates grand opening

Arts A Blaze Studio celebrated its official grand opening with a Christmas-themed event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 25. Studio owners Dan and Teresa Barion invited the public out to enjoy their “Winter Wonderland in July” celebration, complete with a visit from Santa Claus, hand-made balloon characters, fresh popcorn and snow cones and arts and crafts, among other festivities.

Members of the Lakewood Ranch Republican Club gathered at Summerfield Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 25 for a family picnic. Club president Dr. Craig Trigueiro and Earl Mehlenbacher grilled chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers for guests, who also enjoyed festivities such as face painting and a bounce house.
