Camp Flying Eagle unveils new challenge course

Local Boy Scout leaders invited the public for a special open house at Camp Flying Eagle from 9 a.m. to noon, Aug. 15. The morning’s activities included ribbon-cutting ceremonies for several new amenities as well as demonstrations on the new Harlan Challenge Course, among others.

The Pinnacle Academy in Lakewood Ranch celebrated its Integrated Play Groups peer model volunteer program participants with a pizza party today. Thirty-two children donated time this summer to assist Pinnacle's students with autism. Not only does the IPG program help the Pinnacle students, but also it provides sensitivity training for the volunteers as well, said Director Dr. Kirstina Ordetx.
