Manatee County residents gave generously this weekend, helping collect more than 130,000 [pounds of food for The Food Bank of Manatee.
Givers at Publix supermarket locations throughout the county this weekend participated in the fourth annual "Stuff the Bus" event.
The initiative is a partnership between the Manatee County School District, Publix, Tropicana, FM radio stations 106.5 CTQ and 92.1 The Coast, and the United Way of Manatee County.
Donated food will be distributed to The Food Bank's partner agencies, who give the food out to families in need.
