The Southwest Florida Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals on Wednesday recognized Lakewood Ranch developer Schroeder-Manatee Ranch as the outstanding corporate partner of the year.
SMR CEO and President Rex Jensen accepted the honor on behalf of the company during a special luncheon Nov. 17 at Michael’s On East. The luncheon was meant to celebrate the 24th anniversary of National Philanthropy Day and to recognize local businesses and individuals for their support of the community.
The American Red Cross of Manatee County had nominated SMR for the award because of its support of its organization and others in the community, the chapter’s spokesperson Bobbi Larson said.
“We are humbled and honored that SMR was nominated and selected for this award and I hope to continue SMR’s charitable legacy,” Jensen said.
