River Club residents will take their challenge against a proposed cell phone tower in their community to the Manatee County Planning Commission Nov. 12.
Members of the No Cell Tower Committee say the tower would be an eyesore and negatively impact property values, among other consequences. It has collected more than 1,000 signatures through petition drives over the last year.
T-Mobile has hired Vertex Development to construct a 150-foot tall flag pole cell tower near the entrance of the River Club Golf Course. Approval is needed for the project to go forward.
The 9 a.m. meeting will be held in the first floor chambers of the Manatee County administrative building, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. The board will make a recommendation for or against approval to the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners, who will hear the item Dec. 3.
