The Humane Society of Lakewood Ranch have been planning hard for an afternoon of family fun at the Dog Days of Autumn event.
Here's what they have planned:
This year will boast the inaugural March of the Furry Paws, a benefit fun walk for humans and their pets. Walkers will experience "stations of fun" and "Burma Shave-esque" billboards along the way. Animal adoption agencies from Sarasota and Manatee counties will be on site with adoptable pets, and guests can also enjoy the 2nd Annual Hot Dog Culinary Cook-off, where local groups and businesses will vie for the title of "Best Hog Dog in Lakewood Ranch.
There also will be vendors, including artists, craftsmen and pet-related products and service providers, present.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Greenbrook Adventure Park, Lakewood Ranch.
