In honor of election day and the right to vote, Mixon Fruit Farms is offering a sweet treat to all first responders (police and firemen), veterans and active military Nov. 3 and Nov. 5-6.
First responders will get a free ice cream cone for "keeping us safe and fighting for our freedom," Mixon co-owner Janet Mixon said.
"We just want to say 'Thank you,'" Mixon said. "It is because of these brave people that we are able to vote on Nov. 6."
On the same dates, Mixon also will give free ice cream to children 12 years and younger, who come in and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
