Take Stock in Children today announced the formation of a new non-profit organization and new initiatives to provide more services and funding for students.
Florida Rep. Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton, who will serve as the group's honorary chairman, made the announcement today during an event at the Manatee County School Board office, 215 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
The change, officials said, will allow the organization to generate more grant funding for its programs.
"They are taking Take Stock in Children and they are making it an independent entity outside the school district," school district spokesperson Mike Barber said.
