I took part in the GAPP program the year before.
I just want to say, that it was an experience for lifetime :-)
It was amazing, we all got to know a new country and a new culture. In additon we had the opportunity to improve our English, and we made friends for life!
- Hi there,
I'm a student from germany and I took part in the gapp program last year.
I can just tell you it was an amazing experience for me and I'm so glad that I got the chance to be part of the gapp program.
Since I was a little girl and watched these typical highschool movies I wanted to go to the USA and through Gapp I was able to and learned that the "real" USA is even much better;)
Besides that I really enjoyed the time with my gapp partner here in germany, we had an awesome time together which I will never forget!
My hostfamily was so kind and we got along more than well.
Gapp was the starting point for a lifetime friendship!

- Pam, well written, a wonderful article who's link will soon be emailed and read all over Manate County and then the world. Any high school student in Manatee County can participate in the German American Partnership Program, "GAPP." The program recruits students with good grades and teacher recommendations. Due to the incredibly low cost of the travel program, the international adventure is affordable to many. It allows American and German students to travel across the Atlantic and make exciting new friends for life. Without this State Department and German Government sponsored program, these great kids would likely never have had such a golden opportunity.
