+ Discount Rx Direct takes new name
Discount Rx Direct is now Discount Med Direct. The company announced its new name Sept. 5.
There has been no change in ownership or staff, and the company will continue to operate at 6270 N. Lockwood Ridge Road, Sarasota.
+ Kennedy recognized as Top 40 dentist
Dr. Aaron Kennedy has been named one of the Top 40 Dentists Under 40 by Incisal Edge magazine.
Kennedy operates a private dental office, Kennedy Dental, and is also an adjunct faculty member at the LECOM School of Dental Medicine, a volunteer instructor for the State College of Florida in Manatee County and hosts interns from the Manatee Technical Institute.
Kennedy will appear in the fall 2012 issue of Incisal Edge. Kennedy Dental is located at 8198 Tourist Center Drive, Bradenton.
+ Beckmann joins RE/MAX Alliance
Realtor Karrie Beckmann is the newest addition to the RE/MAX Alliance Group’s University Parkway office.
Beckmann is a buyer specialist who holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Strayer University. Before her career in real estate, she did project management for a technology company and worked as a bookkeeper in the manufacturing and technology industries.
“Everyone I know who has worked with RE/MAX Alliance Group or has done business with them has spoken very highly of them,” Beckmann said.

CapoKids Preschool opens Sept. 17
CapoKids Preschool is now enrolling students at its Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch locations for its fall 2012 programs. CapoKids uses the Brazilian art form and martial art of capoeira to teach children strength, music, language, self confidence and other skills.
The school currently has openings for 3- and 4-year-olds in full- and part-time programs and offers a free VPK for children 2 1/2 to 4 years old. CapoKids is located at 4672 McIntosh Lane, Sarasota and at State Road 70 and Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, Lakewood Ranch.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
