School Board to discuss superintendent post
Date: September 24, 2012
by: Pam Eubanks | Managing Editor
Members of the Manatee County School Board tonight will determine how they wish to proceed following the sudden resignation of former Superintendent Tim McGonegal.
The board heard from Florida School Boards Association Executive Director Wayne Blanton last week, and now will focus on who will govern the district on an interim basis. Three former superintendents have agreed to fill in on a temporary basis, if needed, Blanton said.
Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Bob Gagnon has filled the superintendent position on an interim basis. The board also will consider continuing his appointment for the duration of the superintendent search.
The meeting starts at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 24, at the School Board's administrative building, 215 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
