The waiting is over.
Big Olaf Creamery and Yoder's Amish Shoppe opened its doors today for business.
Owners Dennis and Nancy Yoder are eager to be in a spot on Lakewood Ranch Main Street, offering their assortment of ice creams, Amish baked goods, gourmet chocolates, candy and Amish cheeses and hams, among other items.
"The affirmation we are getting from the Lakewood Ranch people has been so exciting," said Dennis Yoder, adding that people have been stopping by all week in anticipation of the store's official opening. "I think it'll be the most unusual ice cream parlor in the area and in all of Florida."
On Friday, Good Earth Natural Foods and Katy Rose Oilery also are slated to open on Lakewood Ranch Main Street.
