Two individuals suffered injuries during a hit-and-run accident involving three vehicles on the afternoon of Aug. 9.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, at about 4:10 p.m., Parrish resident Terry Boozer and Orlando resident Gary Garrott were driving northbound on U.S. 301 when an unknown driver came up from behind and collided with the rear of Boozer’s trailer, causing the vehicle to rotate counterclockwise and travel into the left lane. This caused Garrott to take evasive maneuvers to the left, and he struck a median and overturned as Boozer’s 2008 Ford pickup entered the median. Boozer’s vehicle came to a final rest facing east in the median while Garrott’s vehicle came to a final rest on its right side in the median facing north.
Boozer suffered minor injuries, and Garrott suffered serious injuries.
The unknown vehicle was last seen traveling north on U.S. 301 from the scene and was described as a gold passenger vehicle with front end damage.
Anyone with information on this vehicle or crash should contact Cpl. David Brunner of the Florida Highway Patrol at 751-7647, Ext. 439.
