The Women’s Club of Cascades in Sarasota held recently its second annual Spring Fashion Show, themed “Mad Hatters Tea Party,” at community’s clubhouse on Lockwood Ridge Road.
The chairs for this event were Joy Mazzie and Carol Thompson. Fashions were supplied by PJ’s of Main Street, Sarasota. Proceeds from this event were donated to Hope Family Services and the Family Promise of Manatee County.

LAKEWOOD RANCH
Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch, a public, tuition-free charter school, will open its doors to prospective parents three times in the month of July.
Informational Open Houses will be from 5-6:30 p.m., July 9 and 23, and a Family Barbecue will be from 4-7 p.m., July 30, at the school, 10535 Portal Crossing.
Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch was founded in August 2008. The school started with 57 students at its temporary location at Braden River Baptist Church. In January, Imagine School moved to its permanent location in Lakewood. When it is fully completed this summer, Imagine will have 36 classrooms and will be able to hold as many as 730 students. For the 2009-2010 school year, the school will be welcoming 380 students from kindergarten through seventh grade. In addition, there will be as many as three classes in the new VPK program.

BRADENTON
Hustle Up Basketball is hosting a weekly men’s five-on-five basketball league at G.T. Bray Park.
“While we’ve already started this season’s games, it’s still a great place for people to come out and watch great, fun competitive basketball here in Manatee County,” says Hustle Up’s Chris Williams.
Games are at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the park, 5502 33rd Ave. Drive W. The summer league ends in August, and a gall league will begin in November.
