For the first time in several years, Manatee County’s Planning Task Force will meet today to discuss Manatee County’s development review process and a host of additional development-related topics.
It is the latest in a series of public forums designed to gather stakeholder input on the changes to the land development review process in Manatee County. Interim Planning Department Director John Osborne appointed to the task force a cross section of local builders, consultants and other stakeholders.
The task force is scheduled to discuss proposed changes to Manatee County’s Land Development Code. The first meeting will cover potential changes to off-street parking, landscaping, day care standards and building heights among other items.
Upon taking the helm of the Planning Department in April, Osborne said he would renew the department’s emphasis on customer-service while providing an effective review process for the public.
