David Fink had already sold his financial planning business and retired when he found his mother in need of financial services about four years ago.
Although she’d saved up a considerable nest egg, her financial advisers simply weren’t giving her account much attention.
“What I realized is there’s a lot of people in my mom’s situation,” Fink said. “They’ve done everything right, but (no adviser) would pay attention to them.”
After two years of helping his mom, her friends and others with financial matters, Fink joined Rogan & Associates, a full-service financial planning firm. The company, which started in 1997, reopened its Sarasota branch office in a new East County location on April 1.
The office, located at 8033 Cooper Creek Blvd., Suite 104, is having an open house from 5-7:30 p.m., tonight, to celebrate and to introduce advisers to the public.
“We really want to focus on what (clients’) goals are — retirement, planning for college education, passing wealth — and also to have a guard against bad things (that could happen),” said Fink, director of the Sarasota/Manatee for the firm. “It’s really, do you have a plan?”
Rogan & Associates is licensed to sell stocks, bonds and insurances. Because the company is independently owned, it is free to make the choices that are most beneficial to its clients, Fink said.
“We evaluate each client on a case-by-case basis and set them up for their unique situation,” he said. “We don’t have a pre-packaged plan.”
To better assist East County residents, the company also hosts a show on WTMY 1280 AM radio from 1-2 p.m., Tuesdays called “Financial Planning for Life.”
