At the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners meeting May 5, the board will be vote on whether to approve necessary public facilities infrastructure needed to allow Walmart Stores, Inc., to move forward with an expansion to its existing Wal-Mart store at the northwest intersection of University Parkway and Lockwood Ridge Road
Through prior approvals, the site plan has been approved for 286,135 square feet of non-residential uses. The most preliminary site plan approved included the demolition of a more than 32,000 square foot section of adjacent commercial buildings and the addition of more than 55,000 square feet of sales area for the Wal-Mart store.
