Applications for the Giving Matters Youth Philanthropy Leadership Award can be submitted until Fed. 1.
The award, in memory of Lois B. Green, is presented annually to recognize a female high school student in grades 10-12 for their work in the community.
Community Youth Development of Sarasota has partnered with Giving Matters, a program of the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, since 2011 to celebrate the effort of female philanthropists.
The winner will receive a $1,000 prize to be awarded as a $500 scholarship to the winner’s choice of post-secondary school and a $500 contribution to her choice of a local nonprofit organization.
The winner will be selected by a panel of judges from the community and will be announced by March 29.
Also, the winner and a family member will be special guests at a Giving Matters luncheon April 29, when the award will be presented.
For more information, contact Community Youth Development of Sarasota at 941-922-5126 or by email to info@cydonline.org.
