Construction crews had been working on gas lines outside the back of the building yesterday. Peltz Shoes and nearby stores were evacuated as a precaution.

Lisa Potocar, a native of Upstate New York, won the grand prize in the Sarasota County Film & Entertainment Office’s 3rd annual TVME! contest. Potocar won for a television series pitch she wrote of an adventure/romance movie-of-the-week, Sweet Glory, based on a book she authored of the same name.
