Lakewood Ranch developer Schroeder-Manatee Ranch earned favor from the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners Aug. 6 for a proposal to create a new land development code category called mixed-use community.

More than 40 children gathered at Cornerstone of Lakewood Ranch for Vacation Bible School this week. Themed “The King is coming,” the camp included arts and crafts, snacks, song and dance and lessons about creation, salvation and God’s glory, among other topics. Camp ends Aug. 7.
