Mustangs rally for arts programs

The bus loop at Lakewood Ranch High School turned into a carnival extraordinaire during the Mustang Mania event from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Oct. 17. The event, which serves as a fundraiser for the school’s marching band and other fine arts programs, is also open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Oct. 18.
9th annual Empty Bowls Luncheon

A few early afternoon thunderstorms didn't deter dozens of East County residents from flocking to Main Street in Lakewood Ranch today for the 9th annual Empty Bowls Luncheon. During the event, guests were able to purchase ceramic bowls and enjoyed samples of homemade soups from local restaurants, including Gio, the BeachHouse and the Polo Grill and Bar, among numerous others. All proceeds from the event benefit the Food Bank of Manatee.
Manatee district will provide swine flu vaccinations
